  2006 Mission Journey Report

Between the month of January and February of this year, I have visited and spoke at Singapore, Vancouver, and San Francisco.  My goal is to share about the exciting things the Lord is doing in China/Hong Kong/Taiwan; at the same time, I want to invite them to be partners with us in the Gospel.  I thank the Lord for making the following possible:

1.      Singapore plans to send a campus mission team to help evangelize the China campuses.  Since 70% of the disciples there speak Chinese, they are excited about our offer of sending a mission team to China in the next year or so.  We will also send some of our song leaders to Singapore to exchange ideas on improving our song service this year.

2.      Philip and I were able to personally thank the Northwest Churches, (both in Canada and US), for supporting us in China mission in 2005.  They sent about 6 people to our Summer Campus Mission program, as well as provided US$ 66,000 in China Mission Contribution.  We look forward to be partners with them again in 2006.

3.      Russ Ewell, the lead Evangelist for the church in San Francisco, studied the Bible with me almost 24 years ago.  It was great to catch up with him, even for just a few days.  Before I returned home, he told me that it’s their goal to give us US$ 100,000 this year for China Mission!  Not only that, they will send at least two campus students to help us evangelize China campus this summer as well.

Needless to say, on the plane home, (despite waiting at the airport for 9 hours plus another 18 hours of travel), I was overwhelmed by what the Lord has done.  Indeed, He really “is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine.”  (Eph. 3:20)
