  Definitely Out of Season

Preach the Word; be prepared in season and out of season…”  (2 Tim. 4:2)

Ban Chiao is a city across the river from Taipei, but it already has more than half a million in population.  Jonathan and Joyce Liu have been disciples for almost 10 years, and the latter is four months into her first pregnancy.  When most older disciples are busy with their career and family, the Liu’s had the vision of planting a Mission House Church in Ban Chiao.

Last month, they moved across the river with four other disciples, to start a new Bible Talk.  They would invite people on the streets on Tuesday and Thursday, from 7:30pm to 9pm.  Then, they would gather to pray from 9pm to 10pm.  In one month, they have reached out to over 150 people.  Their Bible Talk had four visitors for the past four weeks, with half of them being new friends.  So far, they have set up studies with three men and one woman.

Jonathan would like to thank three single brothers, Abraham, Bruce, and Ken, who have been helping with this new Bible Talk “planting” for the past month.  The Liu’s goal is to have 9 studies set up by the end of this month.

“I know it’s so easy to give ourselves excuses to not fulfill the Great Commission in our busy lives,” Joyce said in our recent conversation, “and that is why we have decided to try something that would demand faith and sacrifice at this point of our lives.”
