Yu Ting

As a first year graduate student, Yu Ting became the first convert in a young church planting in August of 2005.  A year later, the whole team had to move back to the sending city.  Instead of panicking and fall into self-pity, she started to follow-up with one of her classmates, Mei, who was preparing for grad school entrance exam.  Praise God, a few months later, she baptized her classmate into Christ.  Knowing that this young disciple needs a stronger fellowship, Yu Ting prayed that she would get into schools where the sending church is, as well as for Yu Ting herself to transfer her graduate school work to the same school.  The Lord rewarded her prayer by faith and that both Yu Ting and Mei will be studying at the same school this coming Fall.

Emma

Ever since she was a school girl, Emma’s grades in school have always been outstanding.  As a senior in college, she was awarded a full scholarship to go to the best university in a top city to obtain higher degree.  The Lord has other plans for her as she was met and baptized by the Summer Campus Mission Team members from Taiwan campus disciples.  Instead of pursuing the dream of most college students, Emma decided to give up the scholarship to stay in the same city and grow spiritually.  While her family was upset with her decision, Emma’s conviction impressed her roommates, and five months later, two of them were baptized into Christ.  About the same time, Emma’s cousin, Jenny, who heard about her decision of giving up the scholarship, decided to visit Emma to find out what is going on.  Last month, Jenny was baptized into Christ.  Today, Emma is a full-time ministry intern for the church.

Samuel

Like many engineering students on campus, Samuel was quite shy and often kept to himself.  That changed when he was met by the Summer Campus Mission Team members from Taiwan in his senior year.  After weeks of studying the Bible with both the underground church and the Taiwan disciples, Samuel became a disciple.  He started to form a club on campus and through his networking and his changes, he helped two graduate students to become disciples.  After Samuel graduated, the two gradate students continued on and helped a PhD student to become a disciple, who turned around and helped his Assistant Professor to become a disciple.  Who says an undergraduate student can not impact his professor?  Maybe it just takes a few twists and turns!  Like Emma, Samuel also decided to go into full-time ministry.
